School Turnaround Leadership
The School Turnaround Leadership credentialed professional learning offering is designed to introduce Florida's school leaders to the level of preparation required of a successful school turnaround leader and encompasses 20 hours of professional learning related to the Florida Educational Leadership Standards (FELS) and qualifies for 20 in-service points in the FELS.
The credentialed professional learning offering introduces prominent school turnaround leadership frameworks, pertinent educational standards, nationally accepted turnaround school best practices, and laws and regulations specific to the State of Florida. Participants assume the role of a turnaround principal and engage in applied decision-making through a multi-layered, problem-based ‘school situation’ simulation.
This research-based decision-making experience offers relevant, outcomes-based results after which the learner is provided with the solidified learning components of review and reflection. The offering culminates with the participant's creation of a School Turnaround Plan. A badge is earned through successful submission of summative assessments demonstrating mastery of the course competencies.
